Role
Who you are
- We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with the highest levels of technical talent, soft skills and desire to deeply understand our product
- At least 6 years of software development experience focused on building and supporting backend systems and frontend platforms with a focus on authentication, authorization, and security
- Experience building and deploying production code written in modern programming languages. We develop most of our server-side code in Rust and it's a plus if you already love Rust, or want a chance to become a Rust expert
- Production experience with microservices architecture, distributed system design, and cloud engineering best practices
- Experience developing and maintaining software in an end-user-facing production environment
- Good understanding of modern CI/CD tools like Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm
- Experience working in a startup environment
- Experience with authentication protocols and standards including OIDC, SCIM, ADFS, SAML, WSFED, LDAP, OAuth2.0
- Domain experience with SSO, IDaas, DaaS, and IDP solutions is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience with database management, design, and optimization, including relational and NoSQL databases
What the job involves
- As a Senior Software Engineer at Beyond Identity, you are integral to a next generation Secure Access product which is core to Beyond Identity’s mission to protect the livelihood of our customers
- It will be designed with a security-first mindset and zero shared secrets architecture
- As a Sr Software Engineer, you'll contribute to developing a user-friendly platform that prioritizes phishing-resistant MFA, continuous device security, and seamless policy management
- Solve complex authorization challenges at scale and create new solutions in the identity and access space
- Design, develop, and maintain low latency, highly scalable, resilient and secure services
- Building APIs and distributed systems that enhance our security products' value propositions to our customers
- Work closely with an experienced, highly motivated team of backend, frontend, and data engineers. Communicate progress, blockers, and issues with your team regularly
- Build and support contemporary cloud-native application architectures using modern concepts and the cloud technologies used therein
- Code actively in Rust and Golang to create scalable and performant backend systems
- Participate in systems design and align business needs with the appropriate technology
Our take
Remembering loads of different passwords can be difficult, which is why devices have begun to use biometrics instead. But to log in to many websites and apps, a password is still necessary - which is where Beyond Identity comes in.
Combining biometric technology with digital authority certification, Beyond Identity allows secure enclaves to grant access to not only a device but also the websites and apps used on that device. Its aim is to use this system to provide a password-free user experience that is not only seamless but more secure.
Its a valuable offering which has the company attract customers such as Snowflake, Roblox, Cloud Plus, and Paya Holding. It has also raised huge amounts of funding and demonstrated strong growth - in part fuelled by increasing demand from the shift to remote working. For now, Beyond Identity continues to expand operations and deliver new features such as "RealityCheck", which addresses AI deception in digital communications.
