Our take

WayUp is a jobs listings site aimed at college students and recent graduates, with an emphasis on the personality and extra-curriculars of candidates to mitigate the difficulties of landing a job with relatively little experience. More recently, they have pushed to help organizations diversify their hiring practices.

This latter focus is likely to fuel real corporate interest in WayUp, in light of a renewed focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion across all sectors of employment. Diversifying hires for internships and entry-level positions is one of the most efficient ways to improve overall diversity, and WayUp has a large pool of precisely this kind of candidate. In 2021 they closed the loop by launching a dashboard that helps employers attract and hire diverse employees.

How well this astute strategic decision will play out remains to be seen, but it appears to position WayUp as a company firmly on the right side of progress, riding a wave of exciting growth.
