Role
Who you are
- We’re searching for smart, motivated people who share our passion for bringing clarity to cancer
- This position requires an ability to learn quickly, think critically, and pay close attention to detail
- Education in a relevant degree like Computer Science, Computer engineering, Information Systems, or related major
- Experience in various programming languages
- Experience working with relational databases
- Proficiency in distributed version control systems (git)
- An interest in learning some of our technologies
- Good to have: experience with google cloud/other cloud platforms
- All employees who work from or enter COTA's office location or attend company events or meetings in-person must be fully vaccinated unless an exemption applies
What the job involves
- As a software engineering intern, you will work closely with our data product engineering team to maintain and build new features for COTA’s existing self-serve analytics platforms within the COTA technology stack
- Exposure to enterprise software development
- Experience working in a fast-paced agile software development environment
- Mentorship from senior engineers
- Exposure to new and cutting-edge technologies
- Work with a team of developers and designers within domain of expertise
- Maintain existing specific features and extend some of COTA’s production services
- Full stack software development for our data product web portal and data inventory counts
- Assist with development of scripts and tools to automate testing for existing components
- Collaborate with other team members to plan, design and implement software modules
- Get the chance to apply your skills to learn about real-world data and its use in the industry
- You will add value to our code base
- You will extend applications to become more maintainable and robust
- You will learn how to apply your knowledge of expertise in a business environment

This includes a deep focus on leveraging real-world data to bring equity to cancer care and drug development, by ensuring that its data sets are representative of a diverse population and the epidemiologically relevant population in the US.
