- If you enjoy developing data strategy, we would love to hear from you!
- Experience in the development of data architecture strategy and execution in large organisations like Aviva with Financial Services being an advantage. Track-record of defining data roadmaps with a 5 to 10-year horizon which balance known, and anticipated business need alongside enabling simplification
- Skills in making highly sophisticated decisions that are considerate of multiple factors including the balancing of near-term delivery with longer-term sustainability
- Ability to influence through building positive relationships; alongside strong communication that is adapted to consider the audience environment, drivers and needs
- Expertise in all things data including lifecycle, technologies, data-patterns, insights, analytics and machine learning, master and reference data management, integration, data warehousing, NoSQL, data quality, metadata, and data compliance
- Outwardly looking with an excellent understanding of industry standard data strategies and trends alongside technologies and business models. Snowflake experience and certification would be advantageous alongside knowledge of core platform technologies including AWS
What the job involves
- We are recruiting for a forward-thinking Enterprise Data Architect to join our innovative team and our phenomenal journey to drive the data agenda at Aviva
- This role will sit within Data Architecture which is part of the wider Group Architecture function
- You will be working to build Aviva's market data strategies to deliver the global ambition for data that gives competitive advantages through data by providing the views, designs and leadership needed to optimise the value of data
- This is a fantastic opportunity that will provide you with the prospect to develop your skills, as you will lead on driving the roadmap with strong awareness of business opportunities and constraints, define data products, and advise how the business utilises these efficiently
- Along with engaging with senior leadership to convey the opportunities available from data, support data innovation and guide the prioritisation of development to build the best business outcomes

With a history that dates back to the founding of Hand in Hand Fire & Life Insurance Society in 1696, Aviva’s current form is thanks to a merger between Norwich Union and CGU plc in the year 2000.

In the wake of a Pensions Dashboard Programme delay in the UK, Aviva is in the running to take over the programme thanks to its pre-existing private systems. This exemplifies Aviva’s renewed focus on the fintech sector, all whilst playing national analyst during the cost of living crisis thanks to its annual Age of Ambiguity study.
