Role

Who you are

  • Technical professional services or consulting experience related to AI is preferred
  • Significant experience in business development, ideally from a high growth technology background
  • Experience of working within the ETE sector, across different parts of the value chain
  • Experience developing and supporting the closure of opportunities with new accounts across the business development life cycle, from pipeline generation to close
  • Familiarity with business development tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Hubspot
  • Highly credible and versatile in dealing with senior stakeholders with exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Practical problem solver with strong analytical skills. You’ll have experience translating technical concepts to how they can help solve novel client problems
  • An ability to quickly understand what needs to be done, and proactively identify and implement solutions
  • You are detail oriented and can balance multiple projects simultaneously, collaborating with a diverse group of teams to get things done. You have experience managing deal processes
  • Strong grasp of the key technological advancements in AI & Generative AI and how to apply them in a business setting

What the job involves

  • Faculty is growing our Energy Transition & Environment (ETE) business unit to help clients navigate technological innovation within AI & Generative AI. We build and productionise AI technology at scale and advise our clients on AI & GenAI Strategy across a broad range of topics
  • In this role you will have the support of a diverse set of Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, Product Specialists and AI Delivery experts to formulate the optimal solutions for our clients challenges
  • Our target customers include energy and water networks, renewable generators, PE and infrastructure investors, energy retailers, and service providers that support the sector
  • The Sales team is responsible for growing this client base and driving new business into our pipeline
  • Working closely with the ETE BU Director to formulate Faculty’s go to market propositions, build the sales pipeline, develop our brand in this space and deliver growth
  • Ability to originate new logos and relationships from scratch and develop through the BD lifecycle to sold work (building trusted relationships with prospects, developing new leads and partners, qualifying opportunities and navigating customers’ procurement processes)
  • Self-starter with experience of working to sales targets in a fast growth environment
  • Familiarity with at least one sales methodology and the key principles behind effective sales techniques
  • Deep domain/sector experience and a clear sense of where the opportunity is that you want to exploit
  • Developing a deep familiarity with Faculty’s technology offerings and the ways in which they solve problems for our customers
  • Credible and versatile in dealing with senior stakeholders and able to act as a trusted advisor in how AI can be applied to solve their most challenging business problems
  • Practical problem solver with strong analytical skills. You’ll have experience translating technical concepts to how they can help solve novel client problems
  • Ability and desire to become a thought leader in this space, representing Faculty at industry events and conferences
  • Working collaboratively with the Marketing team to generate inbound interest and working with the other Sales team members to improve and streamline internal Sales processes

The team have developed a platform with large cloud computing space for accessing large amounts of data usable to design and test AI models. As businesses realise the importance of using data to drive growth and stay competitive, Faculty have focused on making AI real through real world deployments and aim provide data to organisations so that they can make better decisions.
