A minimum of three years of software development in React Native, ideally on a variety of projects.

What the job involves

We are looking for a React Native engineer to work on our our app: Steplab Record. The app is using React Native .73 with TypeScript, and has been built in the last year. Steplab is primarily a web platform; the Record App is a companion app that allows teachers to securely record and upload videos from their own device
We're looking for an experienced engineer to help us build out some additional features on this app, as well help maintain the app and fix any bugs that arise

Steplab Co-founders Joshua Goodrich and Ben Abelman have a broad and extensive set of experiences in the education system, from both the teaching and the operational perspectives. So the education solution they’re cooking up together, developing and testing a professional learning platform and new approaches to school improvement, comes from hand-on experience of industry pitfalls.

Steplab is looking to harness instructional coaching and data-driven insights to improve the quality of teaching. It is an approach that draws on insights from top educational researchers.

The UK is going through something of a crisis in the teaching workforce, as many defect to less stressful and better remunerated adjacent positions. A platform, therefore, that can offer a succinct and effective way of improving the quality of instruction is likely to prove popular among short-staffed headteachers looking to harness tech to improve their educational provision.
