As nonprofits and charities often struggle to keep up with the level of innovation in the enterprise world, Beacon offers a cloud-based, data-driven CRM that lets them manage donations, fundraisers, payments, events & ticketing, marketing campaigns, and volunteers all in one place.
The last few years has seen an increase in the developments in the Charity CRM space. Companies like Salesforce have rolled out major upgrades to its non-profit cloud, while platform-to-platform integrations are also becoming more common. Further to that point, Beacon is one company that’s recently integrated with JustGiving.
The company has grown steadily in popularity since its 2017 inception, picking up well-respected clients like The New Humanitarian, The Jacobs Foundation, and Cruse Bereavement Care.

Beacon genuinely care about their staff. From generous holiday allowances, great parental policies, to the recent shift to a 4-day week and private medical insurance, it definitely feels as though they're a people-first company looking to make sure everyone feels happy and healthy.

Opinions and ideas are sought from the whole team, and we all get to have input into decisions that affect us. Our questions and thoughts are taken seriously, and make real changes in the way we work. Everyone even gets 'skip' one-to-ones where you have regular catch ups with your boss's boss.

The CRM space for charities has long been relegated to yesterday's technology in favour of the corporate world. It's exciting to spend time shaping a modern product that helps hundreds of charities achieve more with their resources.

There's always something new to do - clients have increasingly complex needs, and there's never an attitude of 'We can't do that' - but instead there's a lot of problem solving that goes on in order to build and meet what's required of us - it's challenging, but it's also a hell of a lot of fun

Working with charities is hugely fulfilling, and, as a rule, the charities are staffed by lovely people who believe strongly in what they are doing. Seeing how much you've helped a charity with an implementation or a new product etc. genuinely makes the work mean a huge amount

There's a good mix of people at Beacon, and a great attitude to work. No-one is babysat - there's a level of trust that people will achieve what is given to them - and we're so busy that if someone was slacking, it'd be noticed! Being able to discuss ideas and problem solve with colleagues is great fun - we've come up with some brilliant (and often bizarre) fixes for issues that clients have had, and there's a real openness to new ideas, suggestions and interests
