Who you are
- Previous experience as a SDR or BDR in a B2B SaaS environment is ideal
- Experience in a client-facing role in complex project delivery or sustainability/climate tech, with a strong interest in pursuing a sales career
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
- An open-minded team player, striving to drive success for the wider team as well as yourself
- Highly motivated with a positive, creative & fearless approach to your work
- Data, target-driven growth mentality with an ability to work in a high energy sales environment
- Independent mindset as well as strong personal organisation skills to manage priorities & time effectively
- Fluency English, German would be ideal
Desirable
- Prior experience in SaaS sales / outbound engagement / Enterprise sales
- Experience using Hubspot or other CRM systems & related software
- Prior experience in a fast paced scaling environment
- Local market knowledge and/or network
What the job involves
- At Plan A, you’ll work with large, global companies to help them understand and reduce their carbon footprint. With strong traction in the enterprise market, we’re looking for a driven, proactive Business Development Representative excited to work across diverse territories and markets
- Lead the research, mapping and prioritisation of target enterprise accounts
- Own and manage your pipeline of leads & accounts
- Engage with enterprise prospects via phone, email & LinkedIn to build relationships and actively nurture promising prospects
- Gain a fine understanding of our, product, offer and value proposition to be able give tailored presentations in different contexts
- Actively analyse the KPIs and data resulting from your pipeline to take up measures for further improvement & identify best practices to share with the team
- Collaborate with our Marketing and your local Sales teams on lead quality and conversion as well as the identification of new business development opportunities
- Grow into local sustainability & market expert and act as trusted resource for internal and external contacts
Our take
The EU’s Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation means that 75% of European companies across the EU and U.K. will be reporting their environmental footprint in 2023. That represents a massive opportunity for startups like Plan A that deliver B2B monitoring services of companies’ sustainability indicators.
The startup is hoping to distinguish itself in a market that is now saturated with services, some of which offer little practical benefit. Plan A's B Corporation certification demonstrates that its tools comply with the strictest reporting standards and reflect the latest developments in climate science.
The company is planning to furnish its product to become best in class, focusing on decarbonisation tooling and the tricky Scope 3 calculations for various industries. While decarbonisation via offsetting can be a lucrative area, Plan A must be careful not to encourage compensation measures for avoidable emissions as this could delegitimise its ESG reporting system and undercut the benefits of using its platform.
