Role
Who you are
- Create, build and maintain strong partnerships with key retail personnel
- Manage inventory allocations & levels for each account. Ensure orders meet daily demand, based on data
- Ensure all accounts are meeting merchandising & quality standards
- Lead a team of 3+ Part-Time District Sales Associates
- 80%+ time spent in-trade/field approx. 4 days per week
- Daily collaboration with sales leadership and distribution team to manage inventory allocations and order fulfillment. Proactively develop distribution strategies in order to maintain 100% utilization
- Collaborate with HQ team to identify & develop opportunities in the region that will grow consumer awareness and drive trials. This role will build a keen understanding of local markets in the NY region that will be critical in building an effective field marketing strategy
- Build loyalists with key retail staff (buyers, product staff, guest services, etc). A ‘loyalist’ is defined as a staff member who is knowledgeable on our brand, farm and products and will actively recommend our product to customers
Desirable
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent
- Minimum 5-7 years of field sales/management experience and a track record of success, ideally within CPG/Grocery
- Must be capable of standing, walking, and working on feet for prolonged periods
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds as the role may require moving promotional equipment and restocking merchandise
- Must live in the designated market area (NYC Metro or NY Boroughs or Long Island)
- Valid US driver’s license required and have a reliable vehicle you are willing to use to travel in the assigned region
What the job involves
- Driving Oishii growth in the NY Metro region (NYC, West Chester, Long Island). This role will oversee the development of the Oishii business at a regional level, will drive Oishii’s commercial growth, provide insights in the development of a locally relevant field marketing strategy, and will oversee a small team of part time Field Brand Ambassadors and partner agencies. The RSM will work closely with Sales, Field and Brand Marketing, and will be the Face of the Brand in the local market

Aptly named Oishii (delicious in Japanese) is a vertical fruit farming company that aims to replicate the most flavourful fruits found from extensive research in Japan. Vertical farming is a growing billion dollar industry and though the electricity bills for this form of farming may be high, the argument for the high flavour and nutrient dense food all year round is one that Oishii most definitely feeds into.
Originating as the first global entity to cultivate fruit at commercial scale in an indoor vertical farm, Oishii commenced its journey with strawberries, notably featured at the esteemed three-star Michelin restaurant, Chef’s Table at Brooklyn Fare. Since founding, the US based company has expanded to sell in high-end grocery stores like Whole Foods, where its renowned strawberries and sweet cherry tomatoes are now coveted.
The company recently required an impressively large round of funding for a company of its size, an ode to the promise Oishii shows for the future of premium fruit cultivation. With this funding the company is able to envision an automated future, incorporating robots and AI into every facet of farming - most definitely an exciting company to keep an eye on.
