Our take
Uplight provides end-to-end technology solutions that aim to increase efficiency within energy ecosystems. The company's tech solutions consist of energy personalization systems to motivate customers to use energy more efficiently, in addition to energy reports, marketplaces, and other API microservices. They're currently working with more than 80 of the world’s leading electric and gas utilities.
Uplight’s software gives these utility companies granular data about how customers consume energy in their homes and businesses and offers ways to reduce their base power demand. They also offer a consumer marketplace for finding rebates and deals on energy-efficient appliances and electric vehicles.
The company has grown rapidly, reaching Unicorn status in 2021, despite only being founded two years previously. Uplight has since entered its next phase of growth, and is focused on significantly scaling its software solutions to further expand globally.

Hannah Bascom
(General Manager)Hannah joined Uplight in 2023 as a Chief Marketing Innovation Officer. They then moved into the role of Chief Growth/Commercial Officer in 2024 before moving into their current role of General Manager in 2026.
Jesse Demmel
(CTO)Jesse was previously the CTO of Sovrn Holdings before joining Uplight in 2021. He also spent nearly 4 years at Under Armour in VP Engineering roles and 3 years at MapMyFitness in Senior Development Manager/VP Engineering roles.
Sally Lambert
(COO)Sally has been at Uplight since 2019, initially joining the team as a Regional Director of Customer Success. Since then, she has held a number of roles and became COO in 2024. She previously held Director roles at Tendril and CLEAResult.
