Working on the energy transition at Field is challenging and exciting work. The electricity system is complicated, and constantly evolving (now faster than ever) as we try to push to net zero. Within that, energy storage is an emerging technology which adds a further layer of complexity. At Field, we have been working on a large range of challenging problems such as predicting the future generation mix, evaluating new storage technologies, understanding the implications of different battery chemistries, assessing grid constraints in different geographies. I have really enjoyed the challenge of working in an emerging space (storage) that is still not perfectly understood by the experts so you really have to develop your own opinions.

At Field, everyone in the team has always been given a lot of autonomy. We are an early stage company, with a lot of work to do - as such, micro-management has never been an option! I have led and been accountable for critical projects that I was not a subject matter expert in at the start, but was fully trusted by the team to work it out and deliver.
