NewDay plays an important role in the financial lives of over 5 million people in the United Kingdom. As the UK's fifth largest card issuer it provides a white label credit solution to some of Britain's largest brands, including John Lewis and Argos. It also offers credit directly to consumers under its own Newpay Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL), Aqua credit card and Bip digital brands.
A tech-first company, NewDay leverages over 1 trillion customer data points and insights to responsibly offer credit to customers. This has given it a powerful edge against legacy issuers who rely on slower and less accurate credit bureau reports. This performance has led to it winning business away from its less agile rivals, such as the John Lewis Partnership Card contract where NewDay replaced HSBC.
Following on from its success in recent years it is focusing on further improving its product, forming a partnership with Checkout.com to process the £6 billion in payments its customers make each year. This will allow NewDay's infrastructure to scale along with the company's continued growth: something that's sure to be needed as Britain's largest brands continue to turn to NewDay to manage their credit offerings.

People at NewDay are fantastic! I got to meet people in Leeds and London office and they are very nice and helpful (from people at the reception, through call centre, tech to management). I found the product design team very supportive and inspiring bursting with energy, knowledge, fun and experience to share.

The area I work on involves creating great user experience for agents in the call centre creating internal tools to equip them with frictionless apps to handle their day-to-day tasks faster and efficiently. They are absolutely wonderful users who deserve the best in class solution.

NewDay did a research couple of years ago on career path and what people want to achieve. Engineers can pursue tech or managerial path or move to other teams and departments (for example from Digital to Data team). What you need to do is as simple as having a chat with your line manager.

One of the best things at NewDay is Q&A in Townhalls where everyone can anonymously ask their questions and get a clear and honest reply. You can see the same level of honesty in all communications from technical to marketing.

Our product teams have true autonomy over how they discover, experiment and prototype ideas that they think will impact our vision and strategy. How ideas and hypothesis are tested to move from unknowns to knows is fully in the product teams remit.

The pension matching - I've not seen any other company contribute as highly for all product roles, regardless of experience. The office space with free food and drinks makes collaborating in the space amazing when we do want to make use of it.

Where I was before, I often felt like the smartest person in the room which meant I had nobody to learn from and had to come up with all the ideas myself. Newday isn't like that, and I continue to learn so much from the strong product and engineering colleagues we have.
