Our take
NEC Software Solutions is a branch under the NEC Corporation umbrella, that delivers software and services to support public health, safety and connection. The company’s customer base is rooted in national governments and international health bodies, spanning police forces, emergency services, local authorities and housing providers.
Since its acquisition by NEC Group in 2018 the company has seen substantial growth with NEC's support. It has made numerous strategic partnerships and acquired Vantage Health, Cadcorp and Pro-Mapp to bolster its capablities.
In 2022, NEC Software Solutions was ordered by the CMA (Competitions and Markets Authority) to sell parts of its acquisition of Capita Secure Solutions, after an investigation revealed emergency services could end up paying more for crucial software. However, this stands as a mere bump in the road against the company's broad success, where it remains a leader in public sector software and services on a global scale.
