Businesses in the drinks industry encounter unique challenges, such as significant liquidity constraints (with funds tied up in stock and lengthy payment terms), an outdated and complex supply chain, and a highly regulated global market that creates friction and barriers to international sales. Ferovinum has developed an end-to-end digital platform that empowers businesses to fund, produce, procure, and sell in global wine and spirits markets.
The producers of spirits and wines are generally small to medium-sized businesses, and Ferovinum’s pitch is that its technology, which provides working capital and supply chain automation tools, will benefit from this rocket-boosted tech. It offers a comprehensive suite of foundational services, including capital funding, supply chain automation, international logistics, and access to global trade channels. The company’s founders certainly have experience in financial management, one having overseen structured commodity financing at the Macquarie Group and the other having a history of executive directing restructuring for investment banks.
With production and distribution tools at its disposal, Ferovinum offers predictive inventory management, seamless integration, and international logistics. Its one-size-fits-all technology has already benefitted some of the oldest scotch whiskey distilleries in Scotland on a pilot scheme, funded by a £100 million investment in Ferovinum in 2021. Though still in its early days, the company seems set to attract more clients as its technology evolves.

My colleagues are incredible at taking complexity and boiling it down into actionable chunks and digestible insights. Each of them have an area they own and go above and beyond to deliver within, in all cases, successfully. Naturally, that means there's a lot of clever people to learn from.

We work with a fairly large range of businesses, and to do our work effectively, we need to understand them all. When I joined, my team were patient in bringing me up to speed, and always answered my questions with a smile on their face. I haven't yet been into the office and not faced a welcoming, friendly and enjoyable vibe.

Ferovinum is brilliantly positioned within the market. With it's bespoke products, it actually faces fairly limited competition, and the outcomes are stark. Product market fit was met incredibly early, and now our jobs are more about "how fast can we grow", instead of "can we grow", which is a really exciting place to be.
