Our take

Founded in 1997, PowerSchool is a software provider for K-12 education in North America with a vision to transform education through innovative technology. Whilst the pressures of the education system make it more difficult to individualize teaching styles following student needs, PowerSchool aims to do just that, most recently through its package of cloud tech resources.

PowerSchool’s a veteran of the industry and a testament to its success as an education provider is its acquisition portfolio, made possible through its wealth of successful products. Products created - or absorbed through acquisition - by PowerSchool include a Student Information Cloud for enrolment and document management, a student success cloud including behavioural support and attendance intervention features, as well as personalized learning and analytics products. Its breadth of product scope exemplifies a focus on the holistic approach to education tech.

PowerSchool is a verified unicorn, and despite its age has maintained its position as an industry leader. Recent innovations include the acquisition of budget and finance software company Allovue and the launch of AI educational assistant PowerBuddy.
