Our take

Nutrafol develops and sells natural, drug-free oral supplements, serums, and treatment plans to support hair growth in men and women. The company, which has been around since 2014 and is endorsed by a number of medical professionals, is a leader in the natural hair growth supplement niche.

It’s easy to see why Nutrafol’s products would prove popular. Hair loss and thinning affects around 80% of men, and around half of women at some part of their lives. For many, the greatest impact is on self confidence, and inevitably mental wellbeing. The fact then, that so many mainstream hair loss treatments have side effects that also impair mental health, is far from ideal.

Existing investor Unilever acquired a majority stake in the company, which will vastly extend its reach across the globe. With the health & wellness supplements industry only becoming more accepted in the mainstream, and Unilever’s backing, a period of significant growth could be in store for Nutrafol.
