Our take

Everyone knows that buying a house is a massive ordeal, but what if it didn’t have to be? That’s Rootstock’s aim, with its platform designed to make buying and selling investment properties as easy as it can be for everyone.

Its main selling points are the scalability of its program - the services are offered to the person buying a single-family rental unit and for the magnate with a large portfolio - and the dual approach of human real estate expertise with AI software.

After reaching a value of $1.9 billion in 2022, Roofstock sold its first home using NFTs, indicating a growing focus on blockchain usage within the housing market. However, due to the economic downturn in the housing market, it has suffered from an estimated 27% cut to its workforce from 2022 to 2023. Moving forwards, Roofstock hopes to weather the economic storm by realigning its capital in line with the current market.
