Our take

The process of purchasing a property can result in the financial position of immense debt. Home buyers often must take out bridge loans to finance their purchase whilst continuing to live at their current residence.

Point provides property financing by providing a share of a homeowners equity in advance to fund the purchase of a new home. The startup evaluates the finances of an applicant and purchases their property, obtaining a stake in the property if it is sold within ten years.

Point claims to prevent their customers from taking on crippling debt to fund a property purchase, and has helped nearly 10,000 homeowners across the United States. The company is in the midst of an expansion from 16 to 28 total geographies in the coming year after acquiring series C funding in 2022.
