There are huge levels of trust here, and where's there is trust, there is flexibility. Though hybrid working in very common now, knowing that we have control of our own working hours and lunch breaks etc, I feel more compelled to work harder and better - make the most of my days!

The team at trumpet work extremely hard but do it in a way that is supportive, collaborative, and feedback driven. Although they all work hard they make sure to continuously check in with each other, and the hard work comes from a place of loving the work that we do - not from management forcing it down.

As we are still in the early stages of our mission this gives ample opportunity to get involved with challenging work - whether this be implementing a new tool, process or figuring out a problem we're having. No two days are the same at trumpet and we're all empowered to have autonomy to suggest a better way of doing things and to get involved in tasks that aren't necessarily in our immediate remit - even if it it something that interests us or something we would like to learn more about.

People make trumpet. We have such a great rapport / laugh with each other and really lift each other up to bring out our best. We have daily standups, weekly retros, and in-person/virtual socials regularly. Outside of that we're consistently in touch via slack and regularly share our work with each other for useful feedback.

At Trumpet, your wellbeing is taken seriously, you're encouraged to report and take time off when sick or when necessary. You are also encouraged to make good use of your weekends and not spend it all on work, working late also isn't encouraged. Trumpet was the first workplace I've ever had to take a leave or file for an absence without feeling guilty or scrutinised for it.
