I love working for Beam because you can be certain that everything you do day-to-day will have a visible and lasting impact on a homeless person.

Everyone in the Beam Team goes the extra mile to make you feel safe, included, and supported. There's no problem that someone wouldn't jump to help me solve!

The problems we are solving at Beam don't have obvious resolutions, and a lot of our work is about running with a creative idea, then testing and iterating. That's what makes it so exciting!

Working with vulnerable people is something that takes a lot of passion and commitment. everyone on the Beam team really has site of the bigger picture and is always willing to support their colleagues wherever they can.

I joined Beam because the mission of using tech to support homeless people into a better and more stable future was inspiring to me.

The pace of growth and development, both as an organisation and as an individual is one of the most exciting things about working at Beam.

The team energy at Beam is contagious. Everyone is passionate about what they do, and brings a lot of creativity and hustle to solving really difficult problems. We love to have a laugh and everyone has a great sense of humour. I always leave our company meetings feeling super energised!

Waking up every morning knowing that you're helping homeless people fulfil their potential is incredible. The work we all do - whether that's across operations, marketing, tech or HR - contributes to our mission of giving everyone the chance to be amazing. It's great knowing that your job has a tangible positive social impact.

Since joining Beam, my role has evolve from PR to incorporate marketing and corporate partnerships. I'm constantly learning and evolving my skillset. No day is ever the same and I love the fact that I keep growing in my knowledge.

I love the front line work I do with Beam - beneficiaries give us amazing feedback about how we're helping them to change their lives. It's really fulfilling to be able to bring some positive change to their tough situations.

Team members at all levels have actively sought out my opinions on systems and processes, whether in my area of expertise or not. Many of them are incorporated quickly, and all of them are discussed with interest.

I've been blown away by the positivity and support from every member of the team - even on the days when font line team members have a tough time. Colleagues will always check in with you and managers are open to supporting you in the way that works best for you. There's also a constant drive to experiment and improve, and a lot of excitement about what we will achieve next.

We're solving one of the most entrenched social problems, so this is of course challenging work! It's challenging for a lot of reasons - we're working with people in really difficult situations; we're very much walking on a path untrodden by developing a business model based on improving society; and we're a start-up so we need to grow. The challenge is worth it though: I wouldn't want to put my mind or my effort into solving anything less. As part of a close team I also get to make profound changes to the way we work together, and see how my ideas and efforts impact the organisation.

I've had more honest conversations at Beam than at any other workplace I've been in. Transparency is celebrated here, particularly the kind that involves having difficult conversations. We have transparency sessions with our managers where we talk openly about how we're doing and how they're doing. We also have training on how to express ourselves more honestly. A daily commitment to open communication, for me, the basis of what makes any group of people function well together, and we're really putting in the effort to do it well at Beam.

There is a real buzz when we're in the swing of things - it might be that three candidates are getting interviewed that day, another is onboarding with a company and needs support getting everything together, a third is just about to sign a tenancy agreement for their new home. We push for great outcomes for the people we support, and we're really ambitious for them. When we get into flow on these tasks, it's so energising and satisfying!

Beam supports homeless people into work and housing. It's inspiring and motivating to see the life changing, tangible impact that my work has!

Beam is growing fast, and really encourages new ideas and problem solving across the team. I've loved taking on new responsibilities and upskilling myself in different areas. If you don't know something, there is always someone to support you or push you to figure it out.

The Beam team literally beam with positive energy! Everyone is so passionate about the mission and the people we support, and takes time to praise others and recognise work.
