Our take

Over the last decade, the number of Israeli-founded cybersecurity companies has quadrupled – marking the country out as a would-be global leader in the industry. Many are led by founders with deep experience in national defence and intelligence, such as Check Point’s Gil Shwed.

Pentera comes from a similar school. Co-founding CEO Arik Liberzon, who now serves as CTO, spent sixteen years prior to Pentera working at the coalface of national defense, even heading up the IDF’s Cyber Warfare Group.

It’s this robust background that has allowed Pentera to become not only a highly respected name in Enterprise Security Validation, used by Deloitte, IDB Bank, and NEC, but also in more sensitive government projects.

The company has been growing rapidly since emerging from stealth and appointing Amitai Ratzon as CEO in 2018. Having achieved Unicorn status in early 2022 and now operating in over 400 countries, Pentera won the cybersecurity-focused Black Unicorn Award 2022 and continues to forge lucrative partnerships. Pentera's momentum looks set to continue.
