Originally funded by In-Q-Tel and Google, its clients include private contractors for the US Intelligence Community, and it has produced influential reports on major cybersecurity issues.
Continuing to expand its capabilities by adding identity intelligence, attack surface intelligence, and card fraud intelligence, it partners with companies like Microsoft to research new cyber threats. Recorded Future was acquired by Mastercard in 2025 for a staggering $2.7B, where it will integrate its AI-powered threat intelligence with the payments company's cybersecurity services. This has opened up an even wider customer base for Recorded Future as the world of digital payment solutions becomes increasingly vulnerable to advanced cyber threats.
