Our take
Runner Technologies is the company behind Rundoo, the platform serving building material suppliers. Rundoo was only founded in 2021, and is an all-in-one selling platform helping providers manage all aspects of the process, from online shopping to job-site delivery. Services like this offer crucial time and money-saving solutions to construction sites, who can subsequently avoid sending skilled workers off site to purchase supplementary materials.
Rundoo is still very much in its early stages, but it’s following in the footsteps of a growing number of construction material delivery and shopping services. Companies like TOOLBX and TommyRun, founded in 2019 and 2017 respectively, are two similarly new entrants whose funding efforts have begun gaining traction. The biggest startup in the space is probably RenoRun, who have netted multi-million dollar investment - however, they do not currently operate in Rundoo’s home state of California.
Professionals suggest the success of these apps will rely on efficacy, user-friendliness, and responsiveness to what is required by shoppers. Besides that, Rundoo’s future may also depend on its ability to establish itself before competition hots up.
