Our take
Founded by friends who met at university themselves, Housr is a rental app that utilises AI to reduce the hurdles for students looking to land a property. A seamless system for both landlords and renters alike, the streamlined system likens itself to Tinder, operating with the same ergonomic swiping system as the dating app.
It’s a savvy idea, and one that speaks to a whole generation of young people fed up with high prices and unsustainable living situations. The app not only works for renting a property, but for bill management and housemate searches too, reflecting a market trend towards all-in-one mobile applications. The bill management function allows seamless bill sharing between parties, whilst the housemate search uses the same swiping function to ensure a seamless customer journey.
Achieving three funding rounds in two years, Housr is definitely off to a promising start. Its next step will be to capitalise on its 186% year-on-year growth and expand its operations to universities in the USA.
