Our take
Wiz is a cloud security startup that rapidly made its mark in the cybersecurity world. Launched by a team of former microsoft executive, the company made headlines in summer 2022, when it achieved an impressive $180M in annual recurring revenue just two years after its first product went to market, earning itself some major clients, including Salesforce, Slack, BMW, and Asos along the way.
Most recently, Wiz has become the centrepiece of a massive acquisition deal: Google (via its parent Alphabet Inc.) announced a $32B agreement to acquire the company. The deal, which initially faced antitrust review by the US Department of Justice, has now cleared this regulatory hurdle and is expected to close in early 2026.
